I enlisted Kevin Craig to be the first male model of my continuing Video Reality Game Warrior project. It was a hot, 115+ degree day in the desert and he was a trouper. I wanted a renegade modern-day Rambo style of image. We shot a number of different on-location backgrounds - but in the end, the imposing storm I grabbed on location while shooting the Brittany Cowgirl series worked perfectly and conveyed the image I had previsualized much more accurately than anything we had on location. Even though the image could have been created in my air conditioned studio, I'm glad we were on location -- I think the sunburn adds a lot to this and couldn't have replicated it in studio or post processing. Total Processing time: About 15 minutes.

The initial lighting setup was a standard cross-light with my Bowens Studio Strobes. The left light was behind him and the light on the right was slightly closer to the camera. A small softbox overhead provided fill. The harsh sunlight from behind his right shoulder was overpowered by the high powered Bowens Studio Strobes. Image was created using my 180mm lens on my D90.
